Golly it is September already!!!!!!

Been really busy lately got some sewingm done to. I have been really stressed lately and trouble getting blood pressure under control, even to the poitn of chesat pains...not good!

Anyway I have a 4 day weekend over laborday so I am trying to relax and do some house work that has been neglected. We started to rip up carpet to so we can put tile down. I am so excited to be doing this as I hate carpet and the dirt and dust it holds. We planm to do 2 rooms and the hallway then put int laminate wood floors in the bedrooms. That will then make all the floors we have replaced in the house. This is the house we plan to die in so why not make it the way you want it right? We will have to do the sewing room last because it has too much stuff int here so maybe I can get some pay it forward packages sent only they do not know I am helping myself get rid of stuff! LOL win win I call it!

Well I guess I will post some pics of some thing I have been working on enjoy!

Well I am back to sewing and have joined some Flicker groups and am having a ball! We have been doing bitty blocks that are 3.5 unfinished, a mug rug swap, and a mini quilt swap. I will post pictures later as I am on the wrong computer to post them. I love seeing pictures and flicker groups show off thier creations alot so I am loving it forsure. I have also made some new friends and that is always great!

Well I better go I need to cut my husbands hair before our dinner out. Then I plan on completing my mugrug & mini all I have to do is sandwhich, quilt & bond them both so I should have them done tonight. I also need to label some envelope to send out my May bitty's tomorrow morning.

I have joined ht ebitty alphabet swap and I have the letter Q so much fun! I also joined hte fairy tales gone wild. I am doing humpty dumpty being pushed off the wall. These are all coming out great so I will post pictures of them when I get them all. There are some very talented ladies in this group let me tell ya! Okay bye for now!

We have him for an entire week....and I go an get sick! He told me tonight I need to get better so we can go shopping, LOL I told him I know! He is 7 and in the first grade.

I recently signed up for some bitty block swaps and a mini-quilt swap I have my ideas ready to go and I just need to feel better now. I think I will try to get started on my sweets becasue I have some hand sewing to do on them as well. I may as well do that while I am staying in my bedroom so I do not infect Dear husband and grandson. I would hate it if they caught this even though Devin's little sister & my daughter gave it to me. I should have been more careful but it is so hard not to love on your kids and grandkids!

I am so excited about the swaps coming up! The ladies in the groups are so incredible talented... I was just amazed and knew I had to be part of this group. few of hte ladies are Wizard of Oz nuts to! I though I was the only one! LOL at leaqst that is what my husband says cause I watch the movie over and over again! At least 3 times a year minimum. Last year one of the station had a marathon going on all day it was awesome!

More later not sure if I can post pictures of my blocks on here while the swap is going on so you will have to wait until I am sure it is okay to post them. Later friends!

You bet it does! I am getting so excited to! We have to get through the March Madness of Basketball first then it should get nicer. I can't wait to open my windows and see some flowers.

Tomorrow I plan to go shopping at Joann's for their coupon commotion sale...I need some fun buttons for a project I am working on.

Have you heard of a mug rug? They are basically a large coaster for a cup of jo & a cookie or snack. I am going to make my co-workers one and surprise them in teh mail and not say who they are from! Hehe! Should I put secret admirer on them or guess who? I love to surprise people. I have another surprise up my sleeve but I can't say what it is because the person I am going to surprise may read this!

I got a lot to do yet on some other projects to so the remainder fo the day tomorrow will be a sewing day for me...Yippee!

have been looking at these for a long time and just now decided to sign up. I am under

I like to send 'surprise' gifts along to people anyway, but joined in the bloggyland "Pay it Forward" in the hopes of encouraging others. I know quilters send so much love around to those in need and forget to 'gift' themselves. Here is a great way for quilters to say THANK YOU to other quilters.

We had an ice storm come through and we lost several branches and the yard looks like a war zone from them all!

I have been super busy though, I must admit. While I re-arranged my sewing room. I actually got everything in the room now! It is packed, LOL! I think I got some before and after pictures for you.

I also stopped working on my roll roll cotton boll temporary while I did this. This will also give my sister some time to catch up with me. I am still on step 3, but it is coming along....I got pictures of that to!

Tonight I went to BSF, which is an 8 year bible study commitment, only to find out they cancelled due to the weather (we are getting freezing rain) and it is accumulating rather rapidly! So I worried about our huge trees we need to get trimmed! YIKES what if they fall? I pray they don't! I also pray that people drive very carefully out there. My husband left for work this morning only to find a head on colision crash just a head of him! He said it was horrible accident and the police had just arrived. Scary stuff!

I know my blog says cats & quilts, but if you know me.... you know I now have a little chi named Sissy! She is 4 pounds and is a sweetie pie!

Okay I am going to start adding some pictures now! Talk to you all later! I think I will only add the pictures before....then the after ones maybe tomorrow! Hehe....so come back and see me! I hope I remember to! LOL

I ironed all my fabrics and started cutting them into strips for step one. I hope to start sewing this weekend. I am also getting the news print cut into 8.5 inches to do my string blocks. So I am making progress even though it is slow!

I think this is going to be a very pretty quilt! I have seen some others steps 1-3 and can't wait to get started on mine. I plan on having it done before I go back to my sisters so I can tqke it and quilt it while I am there. She has a long arm now! wHOOOhOOO!

I wonder if my Accuquilt Go will be of help in cutting out some of these fabrcis? I am going to try and get all the help I can! LOL

So off to cut hubby's hair then iron my fabrics! Until next time...

Well today I decide that I need to get back into sewing again! I have been so bad lately and getting depressed so I need to do something about it. As the time goes by I have done nothing as far as sewing anything. I plan to change that very soon. I got an old treadle sewing machine cabinet the machine was gone but I just covered the hole with plexy glass and now have a machine on top so I can sew in my spare time in my living room. I will post pictures soon!

Well it is labor day weekend 2010 what has been going on lately is we got a new puppy...named her Sissy.....she is a chihuaua! I haven't done any sewing lately I am so bad, as I need to do some happy blocks for a group from July!

Sissy is sleeping on my lap as I type! She is so attached to me!

Anyway I will try and post more later.....as I have kinda gave up again for a while but hopefully I can post more often and keep you up to date.

I am still at Shannon's in the deep south in the middle of now where! LOL Her husband Mark drove us to a quilt store an hour and a half a way in Moultry GA called Suzanne's they gave me 15 % discount because it was my birthday! Yeah!!!!!!!!!!! extra bonus!!!

I grabbed up a batik kit in the sale items great deal was 75.00 with 35 % off! Got some Maxine fabric for my panel, blah blah, this should turn out real cute once I work on it. I will post a picture once I get it done.

We have yet to do any sewing so far, but we have her sewing room looking good! David should be coming to get me on Thursday unless the state walks in his facility. Then we plan to leave on Sunday unless something else comes up.

I am in Georgia with my sister for 2 weeks! It is hot hot hot down here! We haven't done any sewing for the first week so far as we are trying to re-organize her house & sewing room. She is now an empty nester and we are trying to get al the kids stuff out so she has more room to move around. Her sewing room is this week as soon as we get it donw we can do some projects we have been wanting to do. More later! Ellen

Well I will be posting a picture of the bag lady I made for Liz, but she needs to see it first so onc she receives it I will post a picture.

One month until I leave to see my sister for 2 weeks to sew together. I can't wait...I gave up going to retreat so Ican go to her house in Georgia and sew together. I think this will be so much fun! I got her involved in quilting a few years ago and now she is head over heals into like I am!

My next project is to clean my sewing room and go through my books and magazines to be able to take the duplicates to my sister......we do this alot but two and share with one another!

Well I better go Criminal minds is on.

Well I finshed block 3 of David's quilt.... So this past weekend we stayed at a farm house in southern Indiana with our son his girlfriend and my brother and sisiter in law. We all had a great time...then....last night I fell out of bed and injured my pinky knuckle got an Xray which was negative, but the doctor splinted it for the next 48 hours and if it isn't better I have to go back for another xray she said sometimes the fracture won't show up on hands for a while.

Weird things just plague me!

I have been reading which is a very rare occausion for me, but I have fell in love with some books I thought I would share with you. Have you ever read any Janet Evanovich? I have found that all her books are great but the Stephanie Plum series is the best.....then I started reading the Lumby series and fell in love again these books are by Gail Fraser.

You know my blog says cats & quilts right? Well I do not have any pictures of my babies! So I decided to correct this tonight. Let me know what you think...I have 4 furbabies to be exact. The oldest is Naomi aka Nommers she is a torteshell we got her from the humane society.....then we have Frank the tank! He is a mancoon or Mainecoon however you want to say it or spell it....they are known for thier size and gentleness. Then we Velevet she was 1 of 4 kittens I saved from certain death, you see there was a call for help put out on a free cycle website that these kittens were going to die and was there some one out there that could help....well I am a sucker for cats so I went and got them and was able to get them to eat and go to the bathrooom. They were on the verge of as they were very dehydrated after the momma cat couldn't nurse them and their urine was so orange and concentrated that I was scared they would not make it.....Yet they all did! there were 4 total 3 female and long black haird and one male that was balck & white. I kept one, my daughters both have the other girls and my sister in Georgia took the male. Last bu not least I have Buckeye Boo...she has a story to! I was driving back from a biusiness trip and found her near some fileds with esd tail hawks circling around her. I stopped and brought her home and we decided to keep her. She is a long haired tabby and a sweet kitty!

I have been sewing though so that is a good thing. I recently signed up for a bag lady swap again and have some beautiful fabric choices and foudn the perfect pattern to make with them. I really need to get some of my UFO's completed though. Tomorrow I am headed to meet a few great quitler friends to hang out, shop, sew and goof off. I will post some pictures of the fabrics form my bag lady soon. I actually got mine back already from a good friend Sue and will post pictures of that soon. Well gotta go be back soon I hope! Ellen

I hardly ever get on here! LOL

Well since the last time I have some things have changed mainly my health! I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes aos I am trying to get healthier! My blood sugars are in normal range but I need to loose wome weight! I have already lost about 6-7 pounds so that is a good start.

I also need to start sewing again! I have too many UFO's to finish! So that is a goal of mine to!

Good grief I thought I was doing pretty good for a while until I signed in my blog and seen I haven't done anything on here in forever and a day!

Well what can I say life is hectic and the time passes too fast!

I got a new kitten along side a road in Ohio and brought it home. Her name is Boo and she is crazy! Her name should have been mischevious!

I finsished 2 quilt bags since I came home from retreat in September so not much sewing going on here!

My daughter who has Muscular Dystrophy Limb Girdle is pregnant with her 2nd child and so I have been helping her get the house ready and get her organized. She has trouble and things are getting worse as far as her strength. We ahve decided to have a maid come in a few days per week to help out once we get the house the way she wants it. It makes me so to see her struggle and I get teary eyed alot. She has a great spirit about her though so that helps. I love my kids tons and I am so proud of all 3 of them.

Wow what an adventure with viral menegitis I am having. I actually am free of the sickness just having after math headaches and not feeling so well but definately feeling a heck of a lot better. I spent 12 days int eh hospital mostly in CCU. Hubby stayed by my side and is the best man in the world to me! I know alot of you have grteat hubbies too! LOL ANyway I am trying to get up enough strength to go back to work and get some sewing done. I just haven't been able to as yet, but I am doing better so I hope to get some stuff going. It was a good thing I got my challenge done before getting sick or I would be scrambling now. Ellen

Well it is Survivor night well my favorite TV night! It is also after work on Thursday which means only one more day until teh weekend~ I need the weekend~BAD~! We are planning to get our grandosn for the weekend which is usually exhausting but fun~!

I plan on working some more on my challenge project, but the freakin directions to this pattern sucks so I may have to improvise and make up my own directions!

Anyway I sure hope I can get it done this weekend and start the next one after that! I told myself I wasn't going to procrastinate but hey it is in my blood what can I say!

Chocolate Challenge is under way!

I finally started my project and I am very happy to be sewing once again I have taken a long break to organize my stash and sewing room. I got a lot done though I am not fully complete with the fabric sorting as yet. I still haev my scraps to organize and it is taking a lot of time. So I told myself I need to take some time to enjoy the friuts of my labor and get into my next project. I can't show pictures of my progress because it is a contest, but once the contest it over I will post a picture of the finished project for sure.

I have 2 more challenges that are due in September and so I thought I had better get started or I would have nothing done as time keeps getting away from me. The chocolate challenge is due by May 15th. I am having fun with it so far! This is a challenge form my friend Rhonda she has the best ideas for things and they usually are a ton of fun! First post of 2009! Gee I have been busy sorting my stash and getting it under control. I vow not to buy anymore fabric until 2010! So far so good.

I am in the process of getting things organized in my sewing room. Thus far I have sorted all my stash and put the likes together for sizes and colors for all the FQ's, 1/2 yards, 3/4 yards, 1 yards, and over 1 yards! Everything else went in the scraps categories. I plan on using Bonnie Hunter's scrap system from QUILTVILLE web site.

Phew this is taking me a long time but once I am there I will keep it going so no more will I be unorganized! I plan on doing Bonnie's double deligth mystery and so I can't wait to get this done to get started.

Oh yeah see I told myself I can't do any sewing until this is all done so it is driving me crazy currently not to sew anything right now. So in the evenoing I have been cutting the scraps into using parts for the sytem Bonnie speaks about. I am getting closer with each evening and on the weekends!

I probable should take BIG BERTHA to the shop to get serviced while I am doing this, She is my Janome Memory craft 6600 the best machine in the world in my humble opinion!

Man the time is flying by lately. I have been so busy lately I haven't sewed any for a long time now. My husband and I are redoing the inside of our garage for a place for him to tinker around in while I sew in my room.

WE have to insulate still, drywall and paint yet. The we are putting in a beauty shop so I can cut his hair outside in the garage as I cut it every 2 weeks as it is and it would be nice to have a set spot to do it in.

We are going to lay tiles in the 4 foot extension in the are we plan to put the shop in. I will take pictures and posts once we get done.

Had a busy holiday season and I am finally getting some time to sew again. I spent 4 hours sewing on New Years day! That was enjoyable for sure.

I almost have enough money for my new digital camera....then I can post some pictures. I am excited about it because it will be all mine and no one elses to distroy...LOL .....I am getting a very cheap and easy to use one...I am computer literate but when it comes to other electronics I SUCK!

I need the simple stuff in life....

Anyway I am now watching Wheel of fortune and then Jeopardy......I know I lead a boring life.....
